The joints on Tim are tilted 45 degrees and can be used in 2 ways:

With the horse logo on the right side running forward, the joints will give some more pressure on the tongue when you take the reins, but also more relief when you give the reins. This can be good for horses that are sensitive but where you want a quicker reaction.

With the horse logo upside down on the left side running forward, the joints will follow the tongue to make the pressure in the tongue more gentle. This can be good for sensitive horses who need clear but gentle signals.

The reasoning behind this is to ensure that the bit maintains the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth, creating stability and clear communication for the horse.
